In-House Injection Moulding for Hygiene Cleaning Tools
Hillbrush uses advanced injection moulding to develop and manufacture professional cleaning tools.
Why In-House Manufacturing Matters
Cleaning tools used in hygiene-critical environments must be durable, practical and suitable for frequent cleaning. The shape of a product, the materials used and the number of joints or recesses within its construction can all affect how easily it can be used, inspected and cleaned. Our in-house capabilities allow these considerations to be addressed from the beginning of the design process. Rather than simply sourcing finished products, Hillbrush can oversee each stage from the initial concept and prototype through to moulding, assembly, quality checks and fulfilment.
Designed Around Hygiene Applications
Every Hillbrush Hygiene product begins with an understanding of the task it needs to perform. Our product-development team can consider:
- The residue or material being removed
- The surface being cleaned
- The required level of mechanical action
- Access to corners, machinery and restricted areas
- Handling and ergonomic requirements
- Chemical and temperature exposure
- Colour coding and hygiene zoning
- Ease of cleaning, drying and inspection
These practical requirements help determine the shape, dimensions, material and construction of the finished product.
Polypropylene Hygiene Components
Polypropylene is used extensively across the Hillbrush Hygiene range, including within brush backs, broom stocks, scrapers, scoops, shovels and cleaning-tool components.
It is lightweight, durable and resistant to rot and corrosion, making it well suited to wet production environments and regular cleaning. Injection moulding also allows polypropylene to be formed into consistent shapes with smooth, defined surfaces and integrated functional details.
Applicable Hillbrush Hygiene products are manufactured using materials selected to meet relevant FDA and EU food-contact requirements. Supporting compliance documentation is available to help customers assess products against their intended use.
Manufactured in Colour-Coded Options
Our automated material-handling and dosing systems allow colour to be introduced consistently during production. This supports the manufacture of coordinated hygiene products across a broad range of colours.
Food-production facilities can use these colours to separate equipment according to:
- Production areas
- Raw and finished-product zones
- High-care and low-care environments
- Allergens
- Departments
- Cleaning applications
- Drain and floor-cleaning tasks
Colour coding can support HACCP programmes, 5S practices and visual management, but it should always form part of a documented site procedure supported by training, correct storage and routine inspection.
Specialist Materials and Additives
Our moulding operation can incorporate selected colours and specialist additives through controlled automated dosing systems. Hillbrush’s wider manufacturing capabilities include options for antimicrobial and metal-detectable materials where these are required by the product specification. These specialist materials are used within designated product ranges and should not be assumed to apply to every Hillbrush Hygiene product.
